I  Had a brief experience with a Sea & Sea Motormarine II but found i was getting through roll upon roll of film just to get those "one or two" shots per roll. I did manage to get one great shot of Janet and a Napoleon Wrasse face to face with each other on Yolande Reef at Ras Mohammed in the Red Sea, before ripping out the strobe umbilical in rough sea while diving the Thislegorm.
We only wanted the photo's for our log book's as we felt it was a good way to record the dives and the great memories.I purchased a Sony P1 and a plexi housing while in Hong Kong on our way to Bali, i wanted to get some better quality photo's from the great dive sites we were visiting, this camera has produced some great photo's and i still use it to this day.

We decided to invest in a Video Camera and housing, we decided on the Panasonic because it was the best quality and price at the time (1999) we came across the Gates housing almost by accident but it has turned out to be a wise buy.

It really is a sturdy piece of engineering, but, taking it on its first trip to the Yucatan in "99" and "cross threading" the front dome port, i flooded the damm thing on its first dive in a Senote, not only was the dome port damaged and had to go back to Gates in San Diego (who repaired it free of charge) but the Panasonic was "total'd"...............................luckily i managed to find another before they were discontinued.
The Video lights (Fa-Mi) were purchased after our trip to Chuuk Lagoon (Commonly known as Truk Lagoon) where the depth and dark made video without light's difficult.

Having visited Sipadan & Mabul on several occasions and seen the incredible macro life out out there i wanted greater control over my shots so i purchased the Nikon D70, Nikor 60mm micro and Ikelite housing, at the time Ikelite did not provide TTL with the D70 housing so this meant using one of their EV controller's, which gives 10 power settings for the strobe. In June 2006 i purchased another DS125 and slave EV controller, and on our return from our June/July Sulawesi trip i purchased the newer model Nikon D70s, so i now have two D70 bodies and two DS125 strobes, the results so far have been very good, i just need more dives to get used to camera and equipment........thats my excuse anyway. In Feb 2007 on our way home from Lembeh i purchased a Nikkor 10.5mm fish eye and in April 2007 i purchased a 8" wide angle dome port.
